consonant assimilation

음절 끝에 있는 자음이 그 뒤에 오는 자음과 만날 때, 어느 한쪽이 다른 쪽과 비슷하거나 같은 소리로 바뀌기도 하고, 양쪽이 서로 닮아서 두 소리가 모두 바뀌기도 하는 현상.

A language phenomenon in which when the consonant at the end of a syllable and the first consonant of the next syllable meet, one of the consonants is pronounced similar to or the same as the other, or both of them assimilate to each other and thus their pronunciations change together.
